    Built a brand and content system rooted in Black Muslim history and lived experience.

    Created a community experience that celebrated 200+ Muslim Women through culture, storytelling, and sisterhood.

  • Emancipate NC

    Helped launch Raleigh's alternative crisis response program, contributing to over $1M in public investment for community-based mental health response.

  • Umi's Archive

    Developed communications and digital engagement strategies that expanded visibility for Black Muslim stories, memory, and cultural preservation.

  • The Light House Project

    Led narrative campaigns and community storytelling initiatives that engaged thousands of Muslims nationally through identity, faith, and belonging.

ABOUT ZAINAB

I'm a narrative strategist, brand builder, and community organizer working at the intersection of culture, systems, and storytelling. I have a Master's in Public Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill, a B.A. in Psychology from NC State, and a Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Harvard. That foundation — spanning public systems, human behavior, and entrepreneurial thinking — shapes how I approach every project: with rigor, empathy, and a clear eye on what actually works.

Over the last decade I've worked across politics, policy, nonprofits, and community organizing — helping organizations define who they are, build movements, and shape the stories that connect people to a larger purpose.

At the center of it all is a belief that stories matter — not just because they shape how we're seen, but because they shape what becomes possible.
